At Kalmar, we are accelerating our development of sustainable solutions for decarbonised and electric equipment, as well as driver assistance and autonomous functions. We invite forward-thinking Master's and Bachelor's students to engage with our R&D team in the Counter Balanced (CB) Division to pioneer innovative solutions that are set to transform the logistics industry.
Thesis Project Scope
Engage in meaningful research and development across all aspects of design and product development to enhance our innovative solutions, ranging from conceptual design to real-world application testing.
Available Thesis Topics
We invite students to propose their thesis in the following areas, aligned with our strategic R&D objectives:
- Simulation of hydraulic system on electrical container handler
- Noise reduction in Diesel machines
- Battery charging/de-charging station
- EMC optimization on product level
- Location: Ljungby, Sweden (with potential for a hybrid work arrangement)
- Language: Thesis work will be conducted in English
Flexible, depending on university requirements and project scope.
Candidate QualificationsCurrently enrolled in a Master’s or Bachelor’s program in Engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- Demonstrated ability in engineering and product development, preferably within similar industries.

- Strong interest in technology, innovation and electrification.
- Strong analytical skills and working style.
- Collaboration capabilities and effective networking skills.
- Communication proficiency.
- Curiosity and drive for self development.
- Familiarity with the Google Workspace will make your first weeks easier.
