The R&D resources for the three truck brands are centralized into Volvo Group Trucks Technology (GTT). We provides state-of-the-art research and cutting-edge engineering.
Powertrain Engineering is a global function within Volvo GTT. We are developing products and components of the complete driveline. Our product portfolio includes combustion engines, transmissions and axles as well as hybrid powertrains. We work close with GTT Electromobility, and together we develop fully electrified powertrains.Powertrain Engineering also includes Group Truck Technology's center of development and expertise for Hydrogen solutions.

About the role
This is a unique opportunity to take a key role in driving the strategies for the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle program, to optimize performance, efficiency, and sustainability across multiple technologies and global markets. You’ll be at the forefront of strategic product development.
As the Range Director FCEV, you will drive the Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle program and the go-to market strategies. That includes to lead the Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle projects into industrialization, ensuring efficient program completion and start of production.In addition, you will drive the Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle cross-functional activities involving resources from all our organizations.
In this fast-paced, cross-functional role, you will establish engineering standards for global platforms that incorporate next-generation technologies, focusing on rapid execution and timely market delivery. You’ll lead projects that support customer success and inspire the industry with innovative solutions that allow Volvo Group’s trucks to stay at the cutting edge of performance and eco-efficiency.

Your combined technical and commercial go-to-market knowledge in the Fuel Cell Electric market is a key enabler, as you will propose and implement strategic initiatives for market take-off and growing our customer base. This includes the complete Fuel Cell Truck end-to-end value chain (refueling, active fuel management, services etc.)
In addition, your leadership expertise will play a pivotal role in driving the cultural shift essential for fostering innovation and transformation. With a passion for leading change, coupled with a customer-centric mindset, you have a track record of great stakeholder management.You can easily lead and mentor project managers, engineers and external partners engaged in Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles development/ integration that does not sit in your direct team. We believe you have a can-do attitude and a results-oriented mindset, enabling you to tackle challenging assignments successfully.
You have a true passion about Fuel Cell as a technology domain and what it can do to transform the transportation industry.
Together, we will continue to grow and build state-of-the-art technology. You will be part of the Powertrain Strategic Development management team and report to the VP of Powertrain Strategic Development, with a dotted line to the VP in Vehicle Engineering.

The Range Director FCEV is a challenging senior position with a large influence on strategical, conceptual, and main deliveries. The key to success is to drive innovation by the ability to actively manage change, balancing and handling multiple and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
Your communication skills enable you to present for the top management to secure the milestones and SOP, leveraging internal organization as well as external partners when appropriate.
Your deep understanding of complete technical solutions, market experience, stakeholder management abilities in the automotive industry, and proficiency in deliverables, coupled with your ability to act, will enable you to successfully lead the strategies for the next generation Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles to the next level.

- Extensive knowledge of truck applications for Hydrogen Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) and what is important to achieve efficient transport solutions today and tomorrow.
- Capacity to lead FCEV projects, and to develop and execute roadmap for profitable business.
- Strong Product and Product Offering knowledge.
- Strong customer knowledge and a deep knowledge in the global competitive setup
- Proven track record of leading transformation and change in relevant area
- A business mindset, ability to show managerial courage and be able to meet people where they are.
- Former experience in a senior line managerial role, preferably within automotive industry (leading leader level)
- Demonstrated ability to balance a strategic, holistic end-to-end view with operational considerations.
- Familiar with quality and safety rules and best-in-class implementation, including customer service.
- Experience in monitoring in-field testing, draw and implement lessons learned
- Engineering education, preferably a MsC
