We are a team of about 50 colleagues who work across the Cooking & Eating business. Together we focus on developing an excellent cooking & eating offer to enable a healthy, sustainable, and enjoyable life around food. For the many people and always with the low price in mind.
We are now looking for a Packaging Solution Engineer who can create smart packaging solutions for our range. You will be responsible to develop appealing packaging solutions to the customers which consider quality and low cost in all channels.
Job description
As our new Packaging Solution Engineer, you will be a part of developing the new Cooking & Eating product range as well as improve and maintain our running range. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop packaging solutions meeting democratic design demands of form, function, cost, quality, and sustainability.
- Create packaging solutions suitable for the total value chain, from supplier to customers’ homes.
- Develop packaging solutions suitable for multichannel environment
- Develop new packaging solution concepts, applicable to certain product types
- Explore new innovative packaging materials to improve cost, quality and sustainability.
- Secure compliant and updated packaging solutions, meeting applicable requirements and IKEA standards.
- Identify and implement packaging solution improvements on running range
Qualification
We believe you have knowledge in designing packaging solutions in terms of modelling, packaging materials and design for manufacturing. You have experience and knowledge from working with 3D tools such as Artios CAD or Solid Works.Furthermore, you have knowledge in requirements and global packaging test methods/standards for packaging solutions. You have a theoretical or practical knowledge about packaging solutions and its impact in the value chain, from raw material to the co-worker and customer perspective.
In this role you need to have analytical and creative skills with a passion for details. You will work with many stakeholders and need to have effective communication ability, work in a proactive way, and make things happen through involving and engaging people.
As a person you are highly committed, confident in your expertise and have a humble approach. You are motivated by working in a rapidly changing environment. You find motivation from being creative finding new solution, but you can also be very simple and pragmatic, with a hands-on approach.
